On Thursday 9th May 2013 St Helen’s Primary School in the Sandfields in Swansea, held their annual Summer Fete. The Summer Fete was held in order to raise money for the Parents and Teacher Association (PTA). The school were originally going to hold activities in the hall and out on the yard but due to bad weather, outdoor activities including the New Directions Education Penalty Shoot Out were unable to be used. However, pupils, families and staff thoroughly enjoyed the indoor activities which included stalls, face painting, raffles and Asian cooking. The fete attracted quite a crowd and was declared a success. All proceeds are being donated to the development of the Infants Playground and Flying Start area.

The school is currently undergoing quite a transformation to modernise their facilities. Michelle Thorne, Account Manager for New Directions commented ‘I am looking forward to seeing the finished result and hope that the infants thoroughly enjoy their new playground area’.
