New Directions Education recently had the pleasure of attending and exhibiting at the Learning Partnership Wales event at St David’s hotel. The session was aimed primarily at Headteachers with focus on the theme – Facing the Future with confidence, courage and creativity.

Delegates enjoyed discussion from two keynote speakers – Floyd Woodrow MBE DCM, a motivational speaker with one of the most intriguing career histories our team had the privilege to gain insight to. Floyd and his teachings are steeped in core values and his focus is on leadership with adults and achievement and motivation with young people.

The afternoon speaker was renowned poet, performer and scriptwriter in the children’s book world – Michael Rosen. Michael is a celebrated professional becoming Children’s Laureate between 2007 and 2009.

Speaking about the event, Alisha Bird, Business Development Officer for New Directions said ‘New Directions staff were made to feel very welcome at The Learning Partnership Primary Headteachers Conference on Friday 23rd March. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our Primary School customers from Cardiff, The vale and Bridgend, at the St David’s Hotel at Cardiff Bay. The two inspirational speakers, Michel Rosen- a children’s book author and poet and Floyd Woodrow-a DCM awarded SAS member, were fantastic and their compassionate speeches were enjoyed by all’.
