English Teacher – Canterbury, Kent
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-term contract
Salary: Salary: £31,650 (MPS1) – £49,084 (UPS3) – Depending on experience
New Directions are working in partnership with a fantastic, outstanding-rated secondary school in Canterbury to recruit a qualified English Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and high-achieving English department, teaching Key Stages 3-5 depending on experience. The role would suit an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher looking to begin their career in a well-established school.
Key Responsibilities:
-Teach English Language and Literature to pupils from KS3-KS5
-Plan, deliver and assess engaging, differentiated lessons
-Support pupil progress and contribute to a positive learning culture
-Uphold high standards of behaviour and classroom management
What We’re Looking For:
-Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs welcome
-Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
-Ability to inspire, motivate and engage pupils of all abilities
-Excellent communication and classroom management skills
-Willingness to commute to or relocate to Canterbury
