New Directions Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and creative Art and Design Teacher to join a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in the Halton area. This is a full-time position, beginning in October, with the opportunity for long-term work and potential progression to a permanent contract.

The Role:
Teaching Art and Design across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering inspiring and practical lessons aligned with the national curriculum and GCSE specifications.
Planning and delivering high-quality lessons covering a range of media, techniques, and artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media.
Supporting students’ creative development through structured assessment, individualised feedback, and encouraging independent artistic exploration.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold QTS or QTLS, with a specialism or experience in Art, Fine Art, Design, or a related subject area.
Have experience teaching Art and Design at secondary level, ideally with knowledge of GCSE Art and Design assessment criteria.
Be committed to inspiring creativity and developing a positive classroom culture where students feel confident to express themselves.
Be willing to complete (or already hold) an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
Be able to provide at least one recent teaching reference from within the last 5 years.
