Job Description

New Directions Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to work in a secondary school in Knowsley. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering high-quality mathematics education and inspiring pupils to achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, following the national curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging lessons covering:
    • Number
    • Algebra
    • Ratio and Proportion
    • Geometry and Measures
    • Probability
    • Statistics
  • Support pupils in developing complex problem-solving skills, formal mathematical reasoning, and confidence with equations, graphs, and shape properties, including Pythagoras’ theorem and Trigonometry.
  • Assess, track, and support pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet a range of abilities.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds (or is working towards) QTS/QTLS.
  • ECTs are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with secure subject knowledge across the GCSE Maths curriculum.
  • Able to create engaging, well-structured lessons that support and challenge learners.
  • Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already done.
