New Directions Education is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant for a specialist secondary SEND school in Kirkby, supporting pupils with complex needs and severe behavioural challenges.
You will be working in well-supported classrooms with a strong team of TAs, helping pupils access the curriculum, develop key skills, and regulate their behaviour in a structured, nurturing environment.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting pupils with complex needs and severe behaviour
Assisting with classroom learning, interventions, and individual support plans
Working closely with teachers and experienced TAs to maintain a calm, safe, and engaging environment
What we’re looking for:
Experience supporting pupils with SEND or challenging behaviour is desirable
A patient, resilient, and positive approach to supporting learning and behaviour
Confident working as part of a strong classroom support team
Able to pass an enhanced DBS and provide recent references
