About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Leeds. You will play a vital role in helping pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) access learning, develop confidence, and thrive in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities
-Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.
-Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
-Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), tracking progress and recording observations.
-Support pupils with communication, regulation, and social skills development.
-Promote independence and encourage positive behaviour strategies.
-Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and external agencies.
-Support with personal care or mobility needs where required.
-Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
Person Specification
Essential
*Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, childcare, voluntary, or personal experience considered).
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*Patience, positivity, and resilience.
*Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
*A passion for inclusive education and safeguarding children.
Desirable
*CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
*Experience with Makaton, PECS, sensory strategies, or behaviour regulation approaches.
*Previous experience in a mainstream or specialist setting.
