Job Description

Cheshire East – Various Locations
£88.92 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you ready to make a real impact in the classroom? New Directions is recruiting a passionate and driven Primary Teaching Assistant to work across inclusive mainstream primary schools in Cheshire East. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about education, committed to student wellbeing, and eager to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking school environment.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils through targeted interventions to help them access their learning, close gaps, and reach their full potential. You will also play a key role in providing pastoral support, building positive relationships, and creating a safe, nurturing and student-centered learning environment where every child feels valued, confident and ready to thrive. This role is ideal for someone who believes in inclusive learning, a growth mindset, and the power of consistency in education.

Working as a Primary Teaching Assistant through New Directions means you will be placed in high-quality primary mainstream settings where collaboration, resilience and wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do. You’ll work closely with class teachers and school staff to support behaviour, engagement and emotional development, making a genuine difference to pupils’ daily school experience.

We are looking for candidates who ideally hold a qualification in childcare or educational studies, or who have previously supported students in a professional capacity. Due to the location of some of our schools across Cheshire East, you must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle. This role is full time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm. Please only apply if you can commit to these hours, as providing consistency for our schools is paramount – our students truly thrive with a familiar and trusted face.

This is a rewarding, impact-driven role for someone who wants more than just a job. If you are motivated, nurturing and passionate about helping children succeed, this is your chance to step into a Primary Teaching Assistant role with New Directions and become part of something meaningful.
