Job Description

New Directions Education is working in partnership with a small, friendly primary school in Bootle to recruit a Trainee Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to begin a career in education. No previous school experience is required, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.

The Role:

  • Support pupils in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and engagement

  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Learn and develop skills through on-the-job training and mentoring

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development
  • Experience in care, social care, coaching, youth work, or similar roles is highly valued
  • Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach
  • Willingness to learn and take guidance from experienced staff

  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide references covering the last 5 years
