Job Description

New Directions Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in St Helens. This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their practice within a welcoming and inclusive school environment.

About the Role

  • Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare, and assess in line with the national curriculum
  • Inspire pupils to develop creativity, independence, and essential life skills
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety within the food technology environment
  • Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS (ECTs encouraged to apply)
  • Specialism in Food Technology or Design & Technology with a food focus
  • Strong classroom management skills and a passion for practical learning
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and high expectations for all learners
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive department

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Employment references covering the last 5 years
