A specialist SEND school in Liverpool is seeking to appoint a resilient and dedicated Maths Teacher to support pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Year 7–Year 11). This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have been permanently excluded from mainstream education. With small class sizes of 6–8 pupils, staff are able to provide a highly personalised and supportive approach to learning, helping students to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
• Plan and deliver Maths lessons to pupils in Year 7–Year 11 (KS3 & KS4)
• Teach small classes of 6–8 pupils, allowing for a more individualised approach
• Support pupils with SEMH needs, focusing on both academic progress and emotional development
• Contribute to a structured and supportive learning environment
• Work within school hours of 8:30am–4:00pm, with timetabled teaching typically between 10:00am and 2:00pm
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Has experience teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4
• Has experience working with SEND, particularly SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
• Is resilient, patient, and able to build rapport with vulnerable learners
