New Directions are recruiting for motivated and enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join our supportive team working part-time in schools around Greater Manchester throughout the summer term. This is a great opportunity for final year students who will be graduating in July and are also looking for a teaching position in September.
You will gain amazing experience across a range of Primary and SEND schools in Greater Manchester. This will allow you to build confidence, develop your skills, and become familiar with the school environment ahead of starting your teaching role in the new academic year.
The Role
• Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
• Deliver lessons and take on teaching responsibilities as an unqualified teacher where appropriate
• Support pupils’ development in reading, writing, and maths
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
• Work as part of a team and share ideas with colleagues
The Candidate
• Currently completing a teaching degree and due to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by July 2026
• A positive attitude and eagerness to begin a career in teaching
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
• A patient, reliable, and flexible approach
