New Directions Liverpool is partnering with a small, one-form entry primary school in Widnes to recruit a passionate and committed primary school teacher for a full-time position in a Year 1 class starting in September. The school has recently made a significant investment in expanding its outdoor learning provision, reflecting its commitment to innovative and holistic education. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to utilize this dynamic outdoor space to foster a love of learning in the natural environment. This initiative is designed to enhance students’ academic, social, and emotional development by integrating outdoor experiences into the curriculum.
The Role
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment
• Deliver daily phonics sessions, using the Read Write Inc. programme (training can be provided)
• Prepare pupils for the Year 1 phonics screening check with support from the KS1 Lead
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds (or is on track to achieve) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Is an Early Career Teacher looking to complete their induction
• Has an interest in or some experience of teaching phonics (Read Write Inc. desirable but not essential)
• Is committed to supporting pupils in early reading and phonics development
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
