A welcoming and high-achieving Special Educational Needs school in Knowsley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs within a supportive and nurturing environment.
The school caters for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Complex Learning Difficulties (CLD), and is looking for a compassionate and adaptable teacher who can deliver personalised learning tailored to individual needs.
The Role
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to small classes of 6–8 pupils
Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, promoting both academic and personal development
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
Work within school hours of 8:30am–4:00pm, with timetabled teaching typically between 10:00am and 2:00pm
Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Has experience within SEND settings or a strong interest in specialist education
Is passionate about supporting children with additional needs
Demonstrates patience, resilience, and the ability to build rapport with vulnerable learners
