A welcoming and inclusive specialist SEND school in Knowsley is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This full-time role offers the potential for a permanent position for the successful candidate.

You will provide consistent support, foster positive and trusting relationships, and help pupils develop the confidence and resilience needed to engage successfully in their learning.
The Role
• Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Help to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using a calm and consistent approach
• Assist pupils in engaging with a personalised curriculum designed to meet their individual learning and emotional needs
The Ideal Candidate
• Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or within a SEND setting
• Is confident in managing challenging behaviour in a patient and proactive manner
• Demonstrates resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable pupils
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
