A mainstream primary school in South Birmingham are looking for cover teachers to support with planned and unplanned absence. This wonderful primary school has a strong community spirit. With an outstanding leadership team, all staff; teachers and support staff alike, are well-supported.
The school is very understanding that teacher’s have their preferred and specialist key stages and therefore do not expect teachers to work with year groups they are not adept with. They do require teachers to have previous experience teaching mainstream classes and are happy to consider Early Career Teachers (ECT) who have completed placements.
Key Responsibilities
Following the class teacher’s planning (planned and unplanned absence)
Planning a day of lessons in line with abilities and needs of the learners (unplanned absence)
Working as a team with the TAs in the classroom
Ensuring the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCP outcomes, and personalised learning programmes
Person Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Early Career Teachers (ECT) welcomed, but must have teaching experience
Highly adaptable to the needs of the learners and staff
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Class behaviour management skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or we can put one in place for you)
Two satisfactory references covering a minimum of 12 months
