An amazing primary school in the Balsall Heath area is in need of a teaching assistant dedicated to doing their best for the children they support. The Teaching Assistant will be working on a small group basis; 2-3 children with children with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) within Key Stage 1 (5 to 7 years)
The school has a big heart and is dedicated to ensuring all children reach their full potential. With a nurturing ethos through the culture at school, they are to support all staff to feel confident in their required skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Working on a small group basis with 2-3 children aged 5–7 years with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCP outcomes, and personalised learning programmes
Lone-working within the classroom and other areas of the school, following the group’s timetable
Delivering tasks and activities in line with the teacher’s planning, ensuring work on the key goals of each activity
Support pupils to engage with learning activities using approaches tailored to their individual needs
Person Requirements
Experience of working with young children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) or other SEND needs
Flexible and adaptable to the needs and requirements of individuals with SEND needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Highly motivated when lone-working and working as a team
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or we can put one in place for you)
Two satisfactory references covering a minimum of 12 months
