Job Purpose
We are currently seeking a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) within a specialist setting in Four Oaks.

This rewarding Teaching Assistant role involves supporting pupils with communication, sensory, and developmental needs to access learning and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning Support

  • Provide 1:1 and small group TA support
  • Support communication activities and language development
  • Assist with sensory-based learning opportunities
  • Encourage independence and life skills development
  • Work alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Person Requirements

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Caring, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt support to meet individual needs
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Two satisfactory references

Qualifications

No formal qualifications required

Relevant experience required, including:

  • Support work
  • Care work
  • Tutoring
  • Teaching Assistant work
  • SEND school experience
