New Directions Education are seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor to work within a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings across the Leeds area. We are looking for a confident, reliable professional with a strong background in classroom supervision and a commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring continuity of learning
Deliver pre‑prepared work and maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment
Support pupils with a variety of additional needs, promoting engagement and inclusion
Uphold school policies, including behaviour and safeguarding procedures
Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to meet the needs of all learners
Essential Requirements
Previous cover supervisor experience within a school or SEN environment
Strong behaviour‑management skills and a professional, composed manner
Ability to adapt to different classroom settings and pupil needs
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A commitment to supporting the progress and wellbeing of young people
