A potential full‑time opportunity is available for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in the Leeds area from September. Part‑time arrangements are negotiable, and the role suits someone confident supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including complex learning profiles, communication difficulties and SEMH needs.
The Role
Delivering high‑quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Creating structured, supportive environments that promote emotional regulation and engagement
Leading targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication and social development
Using adaptive teaching strategies such as visual supports, sensory tools and alternative communication methods
Managing behaviour using trauma‑informed, proactive approaches
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and external professionals
Contributing to EHCP reviews, multi‑agency meetings and personalised support plans
Tracking progress and maintaining accurate, reflective records
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous SEN experience in a specialist or mainstream setting
Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
Ability to adapt teaching for diverse and complex needs
Resilience, patience and a child‑centred approach
