Are you a Teaching Assistant with strong phonics experience?
We’re recruiting Teaching Assistants with KS1 and phonics experience to support primary schools across the Wirral.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children develop their early reading skills and enjoys providing targeted phonics interventions to support pupils in making progress.
The Role
Supporting pupils across Key Stage 1
Delivering targeted phonics interventions on an individual and small-group basis
Supporting children to develop their phonics knowledge, blending and segmenting skills
Working alongside class teachers and the wider school team
Monitoring pupil progress and adapting support where appropriate
Helping children build confidence and develop a love of reading
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
Strong phonics knowledge and experience delivering phonics interventions
Experience working with KS1 pupils
A patient, encouraging and nurturing approach
Strong communication and organisational skills
Passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning
Experience with a recognised phonics programme would be highly desirable.
