Directions Education is currently seeking enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join our supply team, supporting schools across the Newport area.
We have opportunities available across both primary and secondary settings, based in either mainstream classes and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provisions. Whether you are looking for day-to-day supply, short-term assignments or longer-term placements, we can offer flexible opportunities to suit your experience and availability.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you could be supporting pupils across a range of ages and abilities, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
Depending on your experience and the school’s requirements, duties may include:
Supporting pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one or small-group basis.
Assisting pupils with additional learning needs and providing appropriate support.
Working alongside teachers and other support staff to deliver engaging learning activities.
Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Providing general classroom and learning support as required.

You may have experience working with children or young people in:
Schools or colleges
ALN/SEND settings
Care or support work
Youth work
Childcare
Community or support services
