We are working with a specialist provision who have a small number of Pupils who are classed as having a traumatic background. The Pupils are learning using an adapted curriculum which aims to engage them to attend School and take part in lessons. The School are seeking Learning Support Assistant’s (LSA’s) who are a nurturing presence and understand that the Pupils are often using “learned behaviours” which is the underlying cause to their behaviour issues. A small number of Pupils in the provision also have a diagnosed Learning Disability and they are with the provision because they were unable to manage certain aspects of mainstream School life.
As well as lessons, the provision takes part in a range of activities including electronics, sports and more recently community engagement. The aim of the activities is to introduce Pupils to life outside of the provision and integrate them with the Local Community.
If you have a background of working with Pupils in an Additional Learning Needs or Therapeutic environment, we would love to hear from you. The provision is seeking to build a pool of Learning Support Assistants to work with them on a regular and ad-hoc basis. There will also be the potential to undertake longer term positions with them as they arise.
