New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) class within an ALN school in Ebbw Vale .
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex learning, physical and medical needs and helping them achieve their individual goals.
The Role
As an LSA within a PMLD class, you will:
Provide dedicated one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
Assist with personal care and mobility, where required.
Support pupils with communication, sensory and physical development.
Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to deliver personalised learning activities.
Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Support pupils with complex medical needs, following appropriate training and guidance.
Essential Training
Successful candidates may be required to complete specialist training, including:
Enteral feeding and tube-feeding training.
Moving and handling training.
Personal care procedures.
Safeguarding and other relevant school-based training.
