We are working on behalf of a school who require a Behaviour Support Assistant to work closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or require additional social, emotional, and behavioural support within the school environment. The role focuses on helping students overcome barriers to learning, improve emotional regulation, and engage positively in education.
The successful candidate will provide both one-to-one and small group support, helping students develop positive behaviour strategies, emotional resilience, and confidence within the classroom and wider school environment.
The Role
• Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Help to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using a calm and consistent approach
• Support pupils in accessing a personalised curriculum tailored to their individual needs
The Ideal Candidate
• Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs
• Is confident in managing challenging behaviour in a patient and proactive manner
• Demonstrates resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable pupils
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
