🔹 Behaviour Support Buddy – Primary Schools – Supply Role – Oldham 🔹
Location: Oldham | Role Type: Flexible Supply | Pay: £89 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
We’re currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioural Support Buddy to work across a range of primary schools in the Oldham area on a flexible supply basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in SEN who is passionate about helping children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
About the Role:
As a Behavioural Support Buddy, you’ll support children in EYFS, KS1 or KS2 who may have additional needs or display challenging behaviours. You’ll work either 1:1 or in small groups to provide tailored support, helping pupils to regulate their emotions and engage more positively in school life.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom
Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging emotional regulation
Assisting the class teacher and working closely with SENCOs and other support staff
Creating a calm, safe, and structured environment
Building strong and supportive relationships with pupils
We’re looking for someone who:
✔ Has experience working with children with SEN in a primary setting
✔ Is calm, patient, and confident in managing behaviour
✔ Can quickly build rapport with pupils and staff alike
✔ Is flexible, reliable, and passionate about making a difference
✔ Has a valid DBS (or is happy to apply for one)
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs
Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
Familiarity with the Zones of Regulation framework
