New Directions is recruiting for Early Years Primary Teachers in the Barry area for daily/long term cover within nursery and reception classes. This role would suit both NQT’s and experienced teachers covering Foundation to KS2.
We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Early Years Teacher to provide creative and exciting learning environments to help children reach their developmental milestones by using a variety of teaching methods, including artistic expression, educational play and storytelling while providing them with foundational life skills and preparing them for the next stage of formal education.
We expect you to motivate and encourage students to show ambition, maximise their potential and embrace all aspects of school life and to develop a wide-ranging skill set by performing the requirements below:
Creating learning resources by researching and sourcing engaging materials which are differentiated for the various needs of the pupils.
Planning lessons by being organised with information beforehand which enables you to adapt and encourage student participation.
Understand classroom management by maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment, including managing student behaviour, ensuring student safety, and promoting a positive learning environment.
Assessing student progress by marking, monitoring and providing feedback along with effective assessment strategies to ensure students are meeting learning objectives.
Sustaining the right technology skills to comfortably use in the classroom, including interactive whiteboards, online resources, and educational apps.
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.

As a Primary Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Maintain discipline
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
