Teaching Assistant, Cardiff

Job Description

We are looking for passionate individuals who are willing to work across our large pool of schools within Cardiff in the Llanrumney area. We want candidates who feel confident to work with a range of different primary aged children in small groups and in a classroom setting, striving to make children’s school experience a fun and safe environment by giving them the tools to reach their full potential.

Ideally we ask for 3 months minimum experience working with children, or have a child based qualification. We do consider candidates who have transferable skills, this means having experience working in social care, coaching or nursing.

A calm demeanour and the ability to adapt, work well in a team, and in supporting the class teacher is desirable for this role.

You will have:

• Good understanding of English language
• A proactive attitude
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Capability to monitor behavioural needs and support pupils with low self-esteem
• A calm demeanour and encouraging nature
• Commitment

You will need:

• A minimum of 3 months child-based experience
• Contactable references
• A Child and Adult DBS – or be willing to undertake one via New Directions
• A willingness to complete mandatory training when required
