New Directions is recruiting a Cooking Technician to work within a busy secondary school. The successful candidate will support Food Technology lessons by preparing ingredients, equipment, and workstations, ensuring students and teaching staff have everything required for practical cooking sessions.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and cooking equipment for practical Food Technology lessons.
Support teaching staff during food preparation and cooking activities.
Ensure kitchens, food preparation areas, and equipment are clean, organised, and ready for use.
Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
Monitor food storage and ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
Adhere to all health and safety, food hygiene, and school safeguarding policies.
Assist with the setup and clearing away of practical lessons.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
Experience working in a kitchen, catering, hospitality, or food preparation environment.
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a school environment.
Desirable Requirements
Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent).
Previous experience supporting Food Technology or practical lessons within a school setting.
Knowledge of food allergies and dietary requirements.
