New Directions Education are recruiting an enthusiastic Welsh speaking LSA to work in Primary & Secondary schools in the Tregaron area. We have a high demand for long-term and ad-hoc positions, meaning we can offer work that fits around your schedule. Qualifications in the Education and Childcare field are beneficial but those without qualifications and with transferrable skills from previous roles are encouraged to apply. This can include after school clubs, sports coaching, care work, customer service etc. Welsh speaking is advantageous but not essential. Creating a good working relationship with a school is imperative whilst representing New Directions to ensure the best possible feedback, and to be requested for further placements. You will be assigned to a dedicated Account Manager who will support you through all the necessary steps and your ongoing career through New Directions. For this role you will need to:

• Have a relevant, child related qualification OR relevant experience.
• Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• Hold a current DBS certificate on the update service OR be prepared to apply for a new certificate.

• Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
• Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
• Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
