Job Description

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for flexible supply work in the Medway or Swale area? Do you have a passion for education and want to make a positive impact on students while gaining valuable classroom experience? New Directions Education is excited to support local schools across Medway and Swale, currently seeking Cover Supervisors to join their teams on an as-needed basis.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining the smooth running of lessons during teacher absences. This flexible role offers the opportunity to support schools in both short-term and long-term assignments, providing invaluable classroom management experience. We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including education, coaching, and social care.

Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour and provide support to students.
• Build strong relationships with students and staff.
• Adapt to different school environments while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in your care.

Job Specifications for the Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise and manage classrooms across various subjects in the absence of teachers.
• Support learning activities and encourage student participation.
• Establish trusting relationships with students and maintain a structured learning environment.
• Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere in every classroom.
• Adapt to different schools and classes with flexibility and confidence.

Person Specification:

• Experience working in a classroom or educational setting is desirable.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour and support students of all abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, flexible, and adaptable attitude towards supply work.
• Willingness to support students in various school settings across Medway and Swale.
