New Directions Education is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Melton Mowbray and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, experienced Teaching Assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, tutors, or anyone with experience supporting young people who is looking to step into the classroom.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set and maintaining a positive learning environment. No planning or marking is required.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials to classes of students
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Support students to remain focused and engaged in their learning
• Provide guidance and encouragement where needed
• Ensure a safe, positive and productive classroom environment
• Experience working with young people in any capacity
• Confident communication and classroom management skills
• A calm, professional and adaptable approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Previous school experience is desirable but not essential
