New Directions Education is recruiting a pool of confident, adaptable, and compassionate Cover Supervisors to work across a range of SEN provisions in the Wakefield area.

Working as a Cover Supervisor within SEN settings is both rewarding and impactful, offering the chance to play a key role in a child’s educational journey.

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons and activities to learners with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused throughout the school day
  • Adapting your approach to suit individual learning styles and needs, including learners with autism, complex learning difficulties, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, supportive classroom environment
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff
  • Ensuring the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every learner in your care
