Job Description

New Directions Education is seeking a passionate and committed EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Sefton. This full-time role is perfect for someone who loves working outdoors and is enthusiastic about supporting early learning through play, exploration, and nature-based activities.

The Role:

  • Support teaching and learning within the EYFS setting, both indoors and outdoors, with a strong emphasis on play-based, nature-focused activities.
  • Assist with Forest School sessions and help facilitate outdoor exploration, including mud kitchens, sensory play, and practical problem-solving activities.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children, including those with additional needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to contribute to planning, assessment, and maintaining an engaging environment.
  • Encourage children’s curiosity, independence, and confidence in a safe, stimulating setting.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must hold a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Available full time, Monday to Friday.
  • Passionate about outdoor learning, nature-based education, and supporting EYFS development.
  • Warm, patient, and proactive, with the ability to engage children in hands-on, exploratory learning.
  • Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if required.
  • Able to provide employment references covering the last 5 years.
