About the Role

As a General Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subject areas, ensuring students remain engaged and on task during staff absences. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning and supporting positive outcomes for pupils.

This role offers the chance to work in different school environments, gain valuable experience, and build strong professional relationships across local schools.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and positively
• Ensure pupils remain engaged and complete the work set
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures
• Provide feedback to departments and school staff where required
• Adapt quickly to different schools and classroom settings

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Previous experience teaching within UK secondary schools
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Flexible, reliable, and professional approach
• Ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
