History Teachers – Supply Opportunities, Harrogate

Job Description

New Directions are currently seeking knowledgeable and adaptable History Teachers to work on a varied supply basis across secondary schools in the Harrogate area.

This role offers a mix of day‑to‑day cover, short‑term assignments, and longer‑term placements, making it ideal for teachers who value flexibility while continuing to inspire a love of history and critical thinking in the classroom.

The Role

• Teach History across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)
• Deliver pre‑planned lessons and ensure continuity of learning
• Create a positive, well‑managed classroom environment
• Engage pupils with historical content and support their progress
• Adapt confidently to different school settings and student needs

About You

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching History in a UK secondary school setting
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisation skills
• Be flexible, professional, and reliable
• ECTs, experienced teachers, and semi‑retired teachers are welcome to apply
