We are currently working in partnership with a small federation of primary schools in Harrogate that is looking for a 121 KS2 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with special needs on a full-time, long-term basis for the rest of the academic year 25/26, with the potential for the role to be extended into the 26/27.
You will be required to work on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday 08:30 – 15:30.
Essential experience / skills
Experience working as a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant with primary aged pupils
A calm, patient, and confident approach towards behaviour management
Ability to follow risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to supporting pupils learning and development needs
The role:
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs throughout the day
Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional regulation in line with individual support plans
Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to adapt activities and support progress
Promote a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Support school safeguarding strategies and policies at all times
