New Directions Education is seeking motivated and caring Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of primary schools in the Cwmbran area. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in different school settings, support children with their learning, and make a positive impact on their educational journey.
Our partner schools are looking for enthusiastic support staff who can bring patience, energy and commitment to the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide classroom support to teachers and pupils across Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2
Work one-to-one or with small groups of learners to reinforce understanding and build confidence
Assist in supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
Help manage behaviour positively in line with school policies
Support with preparing resources and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment
Encourage pupils to engage fully in school life and promote positive attitudes to learning
Requirements
To be successful in this role you must have:
A minimum of 3 months experience in a child based or care-based role
Enthusiasm, patience and dedication to supporting children’s education and wellbeing
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work across different schools as needed
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via New Directions)
