One of our partner Secondary schools in Altrincham are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join its SEND Team ASAP until July. This is a support role working with SEMH students so experience of supporting pupils behaviour is essential.
Key Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant
• Provide learning support for students on a 1:1 basis
• Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
• Establish trusting relationships with pupils with interactions according to individual needs and personalities.
• Work closely with SENCo and Class Teacher to ensure learning is tailored to needs of pupils
Personal Specification of Teaching Assistant
• Have experience supporting Secondary aged students on a 1:1 basis
• Have a strong understanding of SEMH needs
• Willing to support in the classroom as well deliver targeted interventions with students at times
• Have an ability to use own initiative with an ability to ‘think on your feet’
• Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
