Learning Support Assistant, Vale of Glamorgan

Job Description

We are currently seeking committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools in the Vale of Glamorgan. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a classroom setting.

Roles are available on a short-term, long-term, and day-to-day supply basis, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work across a range of school environments.

Main Duties:

• Provide general classroom support under the direction of the class teacher.
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Support the social and emotional development of pupils.
• Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Help with the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays.
• Adapt support according to the individual needs of pupils.

Candidate Requirements:

• A genuine interest in working with children and young people.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, supportive approach.
• Ability to follow guidance and work collaboratively with school staff.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required or willingness to obtain one.
