New Directions are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team and support students in reaching their full potential.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to assist students with additional learning needs, both in and out of the classroom. You’ll help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported and valued.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students
Assist students with academic tasks, social development, and emotional regulation
Support the teacher in implementing individual learning plans (IEPs)
Help manage classroom behaviour in a positive and consistent way
Prepare learning materials and support classroom activities
Foster independence, confidence, and engagement in learners
