New Directions Education is currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a primary school in the Newport Area. The position is a maternity cover based within the Foundation Phase.
The position will involve following a weekly timetable to provide a small goup of pupils with moderate learning difficulties with one-to-one support.
The school are looking for a candidate who is patient, has an understanding of additional learning needs and is flexiable in their approach due to the pupils having different needs.
The position is due to start after the Whitsun half term and will be required for five days per week 8:30am-3:30pm.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
