New Directions Education is recruiting motivated, engaging, and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of Leeds‑based SEN provisions, supporting learners across all Key Stages.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils both in the classroom and beyond, helping them build confidence, independence, and essential life skills in a safe and inclusive environment.
You’ll be part of a supportive, caring, and dynamic team dedicated to helping children and young people reach their personal, social, and educational goals.
What the role involves:
Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs
Working 1:1 or in small groups to provide tailored support
Encouraging independence and engagement through structured learning and practical activities
Supporting pupils during transitions, unstructured times, and enrichment activities
Implementing individual education and support plans (EHCPs) alongside teachers and specialists
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and self‑confidence
Recording progress and contributing to reviews and target setting
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Experience & requirements:
Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential – we value the right attitude, transferable skills, and commitment to inclusion
An interest in working with children and young people
Willingness to complete required training, including safeguarding
Ability to travel within the Leeds area if required
An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
