This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils both in the classroom and beyond, helping them build confidence, independence, and essential life skills in a safe and inclusive environment.

You’ll be part of a supportive, caring, and dynamic team dedicated to helping children and young people reach their personal, social, and educational goals.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to provide tailored support
  • Encouraging independence and engagement through structured learning and practical activities
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, unstructured times, and enrichment activities
  • Implementing individual education and support plans (EHCPs) alongside teachers and specialists
  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and self‑confidence
  • Recording progress and contributing to reviews and target setting
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Engaging and approachable, able to build positive relationships with pupils of different ages
  • Flexible and adaptable, happy to support learners with varying needs and abilities
  • A strong team player who communicates well with staff, families, and external professionals

Experience & requirements:

  • Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential – we value the right attitude, transferable skills, and commitment to inclusion
  • An interest in working with children and young people
  • Willingness to complete required training, including safeguarding
  • Ability to travel within the Leeds area if required
  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
