A friendly and inclusive two-form entry primary school in the Manchester area is seeking an experienced Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team from September. This is a full-time, long-term role working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of SEND, with a particular focus on Autism (ASC). Experience working with non-verbal children would be highly advantageous.

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and additional needs, helping them access learning, develop communication and achieve their individual targets.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider staff team in a rewarding, long-term role where you’ll make a genuine difference every day.
Person specification
Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant within a primary school is essential. A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
A strong understanding of Autism is required, with previous experience supporting non-verbal pupils highly desirable. Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or visual timetables would be beneficial.
Patient, resilient and proactive, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships while promoting pupil’s confidence, independence and wellbeing.
