Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Prescot. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Full-time role working in an EYFS setting, supporting both whole-class learning and targeted interventions.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated activities to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Provide small group and 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs, helping to close attainment gaps.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENDCo, and external professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within an early years setting
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and the ability to adapt support to suit a range of learning needs.
  • Confident in supporting phonics, literacy, and numeracy interventions.
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to provide a recent school-based reference covering the last 5 years.
