NQT – Supply Teacher, Wrexham

Job Description

We are currently recruiting Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) to work on a supply basis in secondary schools across Wrexham and the surrounding areas.

Supply teaching is a fantastic way for NQTs to gain valuable classroom experience, build confidence and develop their skills before committing to a permanent or long-term position. Working across a variety of schools gives you the opportunity to experience different teaching environments, meet new staff and pupils, and develop your own approach to classroom management and teaching.

As a General Supply Teacher, you will be covering lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, delivering pre-set work and ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task. This variety can be particularly beneficial for NQTs, allowing you to gain experience managing different classrooms, behaviour styles and school settings.

We are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable teachers who are keen to develop their experience within secondary education. You will need to be confident leading a classroom, have strong communication skills and be willing to step into different schools and situations.

As a newly qualified teacher you’ll be expected to:

• Hold QTS status and actively work towards your induction
• Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
• Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
• Maintain discipline
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
• Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
• Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
