Job Description

Do you have experience supporting children with challenging behaviour? Are you passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning?

We’re recruiting Behaviour Buddies to support children across a range of primary schools on the Wirral from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to build confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve success in the classroom.

The Role

• Providing tailored support to pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs
• Working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups
• Supporting children to regulate their emotions and engage positively with learning
• Promoting positive behaviour strategies in line with the school’s policies
• Working closely with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams to ensure the best outcomes for pupils

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Experience within schools is desirable, but we also welcome candidates with transferable skills from care, youth work, mentoring or support work
