This is a fantastic opportunity to work in welcoming primary schools, supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 while making a genuine difference to children’s learning and development.

About the Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You may provide whole-class support, work with small intervention groups, or offer 1:1 assistance to pupils who require additional support.

No two days are the same, making this a varied and rewarding role for individuals who are passionate about education and helping children succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
• Assist in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
• Support pupils with varying learning abilities and needs
• Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Foster pupils’ confidence, independence, and social development
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable
• A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
