The Role:
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapy teams to support pupils with diverse additional needs.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils develop confidence, communication, and emotional regulation skills.
Implement and reinforce strategies designed to support learning, social interaction, and positive behaviour.
Assist with observations, assessments, and the development of personalised learning plans.
Contribute to creating a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment that supports pupils’ wellbeing and progress.
The Ideal Candidate:
Hold a degree in Psychology or a closely related subject.
Have a genuine interest in working with children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Demonstrate empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Be proactive, adaptable, and eager to apply psychological knowledge to practical classroom and behavioural support.
Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already in place.
Able to provide references covering the last 5 years of employment or study.
