Job Title: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant
School Type: Mainstream Schools, SEND Schools, Alternative Provisions
Location: South Birmingham and Solihull
Contract Type: Day to day cover, term-time only
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking reliable, flexible and dependable School Support Staff to work across schools within the South Birmingham and Solihull. This role combines supporting the catering provisions with helping to ensure that our school environment is prepared and organised at the end of each day. If required, our schools can also accommodate part-time staff to work either only as Catering Support or Packdown Support.
The Role
10:00am – 2:00pm: Catering Assistant
You will work alongside the kitchen team to support the preparation and service of healthy meals and snacks for pupils and staff.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with food preparation and service.
Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
Washing dishes, utensils and catering equipment.
Supporting stock management and storage of deliveries.
Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
3:30pm – 6:00pm: School Packdown Support
Following the end of the school day, you will assist with preparing classrooms and communal areas for the following day.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting the tidying and resetting of classrooms and learning environments.
Assisting with furniture movement and room setup where required.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation across school areas.
Supporting staff with the storage of resources and equipment.
Helping to ensure the school is safe, secure and ready for the next school day.

Understands the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality.
Has previous catering, hospitality, cleaning or site support experience (desirable but not essential).
