New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a Science Teacher to work in a large, well-established mainstream secondary school in St Helens. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in January 2026, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:
• Full-time teaching position delivering Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE preparation, practical investigations, and assessment of core scientific skills.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop key Year 10 and Year 11 competencies, including maths skills (handling data, plotting and interpreting graphs), investigative skills, analysing and evaluating data, and the confident use of specialist equipment.
• Support students in devising and investigating testable questions, identifying and controlling variables, handling equipment with accuracy, and recognising hazards to minimise risk.
The Ideal Teacher:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Have recent, relevant experience teaching Science at secondary level, with desirable experience supporting KS4 practical and investigative skills.
• Be able to provide a school-based reference within the last 5 years.
• Be willing to complete a DBS check and add it to the Update Service if not already registered.
